Profanity Filter: Chat Messages

The Profanity Filter is used to prevent inappropriate words from displaying in the chat window. Please note that the profanity filter is a "filter", which means that in order for chat text to be filtered, it must first pass through the chat server where the filtering takes place. As such, the user submitting inappropriate words will see the word display in their own chat window, but all other users in the room will see %%%%% as replacement text.
Input one word per line only. Phrases with spaces are not filtered. No limit is imposed on the number of words that can be added.
How To Apply System Filter
Use Custom Banned Words Only
Select this option to apply only the custom profanity list to all chat rooms under a Site ID.
Use System Filter Plus Custom Banned Words
Select this option to apply the chat service's default profanity list and the custom profanity list to all chat rooms under a Site ID.
Custom Banned Words
Input one word per line to add new words to the existing profanity filter list. To remove a word from the filter, highlight it and delete it.
Custom Banned Wild Card Words
Input one word per line to filter words as "wild cards". The wild card filter will replace any word or character string that contains the wild card word with %%%%% replacement text in the chat window. For example, if "example.com" is added as a word to the wild card filter list, "example.com", "www.example.com" and "www.example.com/abc.html" would all be prevented from displaying in the chat window, and would display as %%%% replacement text.
